When we read the first chapters of Genesis, we think about God creating earth, animals, and humans. Yet, in Genesis 1:7-8 God created the firmament. Many Bible scholars believe God was also creating the heavens and the earth at the same time. ” Thus, God made the firmament and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters above it. And it was so. And God called the firmament heaven. So, the evening and the morning were the second day. ” Have you noticed that the heavens and the earth were created at the same time? ” Thus, the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished.” (Gen. 2:1). Read the verse again. God created the heavens and the earth at the same time. He also created all the heavenly hosts at this time. God created angels at the same time He created the earth, animals, and people.
CONSIDER THIS: The heavens can’t contain God. ” But who is able to build Him a temple, since heaven and the heavens of heavens cannot contain Him?” (2 Cor.2:6) Notice that this verse differentiates between heaven and the heavens, which we will examine later in a future post. The earth was originally Paradise that was created for us. god would come down and fellowship with Adam and Eve face to face. He didn’t talk in parable. He wasn’t far away. When Adam and Eve fell into sin, everything changed. Death entered in, defiling the earth so it was no longer a Paradise. Heaven became the dwelling place for BORN -AGAIN CHILDREN OF GOD after death.
Still, heaven is a lot more than an eternal destination or eternal residence they are also supernatural realms. The Bible makes reference to “HEAVENLY PLACES.” Notice it’s plural, more than one heavenly place. ” In the beginning God created the “HEAVENS” and the ‘EARTH.” (Gen 1:1). Often people think that “HEAVENLY PLACES” refer to the second heavens where the demons dwell. Yes, the phrase can refer to this realm. Nonetheless, it’s more than this. Scripture tells us in Ephesians 1:20 that Jesus is seated in the “HEAVENLIES” and He is not dwelling with demons.
Many Bible scholars believe that in Genesis, God created the sky and atmosphere of the universe. This is referred to as the visible realm. They also believe God created the third “HEAVEN,” where He rules on His throne. This is considered the invisible realm. The Apostle Paul explained it this way “For by Him all things were created that are in heaven.” This includes things that are on earth. These things include visible and invisible things, whether thrones, dominions, principalities, or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. (Paraphrased, refer to Col. 1:16). Paul also speaks of these invisible heavenly places in Ephesians 6:12. He states, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. We wrestle against principalities and powers. We wrestle against rulers of darkness of this age. We fight against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” The phrase heavenly places in this verse refers to the second heaven. Yet, it can’t always refer to just the second heaven. Earlier in Ephesians we read that God ” made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” (See Eph. 2:6). In this case, heavenly places speak of the third heaven. It seems that in Scripture heavenly places refer to various locations in the invisible realm. These include the second and third heaven, the abyss, Hades, and Paradise. We will examine these different places in future posts.
CONSIDER THIS: To God’s Bold Warrior Seers it is Biblical to go in the Spirit to the throne. There is no place in the Bible where God doesn’t make heaven available to us in the Spirit now! So, what makes it unavailable now? Our flesh and mind when it’s focused on the things of earth. Also, being influenced by cessationalist theology (which says that the spiritual gifts like prophecy, healing, and speaking in tongues etc. ended with the apostolic age. Cessationists believe that these gifts were only meant for a specific time in history. Some believe that God stopped speaking and doing miracles after the Bible was written. And others believe in traditions of man and are overly concerned about what man thinks. They are so fearful that they stay blinded to the truth. However, the Bible gives us a free invitation in Hebrews 4:16. Actually it’s more than an invitation, it’s a command to “come “BOLDY” before the throne.” Most Believers are okay with this verse. But their attitude will change. This change will happen when you, as a Bold Warrior Seer, see the throne. It will also occur when you have an experience in the spirit and go there. Here is a heads up: when you describe what it looks like, be prepared. The spirit of unbelief and controversy will also erupt. They are okay with Paul, John and Ezekiel seeing the throne. Yet, people will find it strange when you mention your vision of the throne. They will also find it strange when you say you saw it or were translated there in the Spirit. But you have the invitation in Hebrews 4 and the command!
Please keep in mind that not everyone will have these kinds of experiences. Still, I believe that more Believers will experience their spirit eyes opened. But we must always remember most Believers have limited their faith. They base it on what they have or have not seen. They also base it on whether they believe they can. Unfortunately, many have an artificial, self-imposed ceiling. It is kept in place by fear, religious attitudes, and the transitions of man. They refuse to let the Gifts of the Spirit flow out of them. In many cases, they will not ask to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues.
