The Kingdom Jesus taught about was not some future happening. The Kingdom Jesus taught about is one that a person gets born -again into. This occurs when we receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Look what Jesus told Nicodemus, “Except a man be born -again he cannot see (be aware of) the Kingdom.” (John 3:3). The Kingdom one is born into begins on earth and continues throughout eternity. Eternal life does not start when we get to heaven. Eternal life begins at the time of our conversion here on earth. At that point, we are delivered from the power of darkness. We are then translated into the Kingdom of God’s Dear Son. (Col.1:13).
The Kingdom of God is a “SPIRITUAL KINGDOM” and it works by and through love and faith. Love (agape) never fails (1 Cor. 13:8). Faith comes by hearing the Word (Rom. 10:17). You are receiving faith -energy right now because you are hearing the Word. Faith pleases the Father (Heb. 11:6) because faith brings the will of God into the Earth. Let’s go a little deeper and see what other remarkable things we can discover about the Kingdom of God. 2 Cor. 4:7 (Paraphrased) says, “But we have this treasure in earthen vessels. And all of heaven’s resources are inside us as well. This means the power and authority of Heaven is in Believers. There is enough power in you right now to overcome the storms of life. You can even achieve the impossible. It also means there’s enough power in you to finish the calling God has on your life. Whatever God is challenging you to do today ask yourself,” If anything is too hard for God? (See Jer. 32:7)
The good news is that everything God has is already inside of the Believer in “seed form.” We are the living, breathing and walking warehouse and storehouse of heaven. That’s mind blowing . . . isn’t it! It is true that God has deposited this treasure (His Kingdom) in our earthly vessels. This refers to our physical body. All of Heaven’s resources are inside each of us right now. 2 Corinthians 4:7 makes it clear. We have this treasure in earthen vessels. The excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. And according to Luke 17:21 which says, ” Neither shall they say, Lo here! or Lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. According to this verse, the Kingdom of God (which is a Kingdom of Power) is “within you. This means that it (God’s Kingdom of power) is in you if you are born-again. What an astounding revelation! All of heaven’s power resides inside every believer.
It seems as if we have yet to realize the significance of what Jesus taught about the kingdom of heaven. He preached that “the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” But it seems as if the Body of Christ in general has not fully understood what this means. We need to consider several things. This helps us release our faith and its power, which is the Kingdom Power in every Believer. The Kingdom that Jesus taught about was not some far off happening. It was not some future eschatological event. It is in the now. And It is purposed to work on earth just as it is operating in heaven. Matthew 6:10 says, ” Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
The Kingdom is eternal and begins on earth and continues into and throughout eternity. One is born into the Kingdom when they receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. In John 3:3, Jesus spoke to Nicodemus. He said, “except a man be born again he cannot SEE (be aware of) the Kingdom.” The Kingdom one is born into begins on earth and continues throughout eternity. Eternal life does not start when we get to Heaven. Heaven is a destination, and Heaven is also in every born-again child of God (in spirit of course). Eternal life begins at the time of our conversion on earth. At that time, we are delivered from the power of darkness. Then we are translated into the Kingdom of God’s dear Son (Jesus).
Much of Jesus’ preaching was about the Kingdom. He knew how extremely important it was for us to understand the principles of the Kingdom. He taught about it through the parables. Eleven of them deal specifically with the Kingdom. He compared the Kingdom with simple things of life. This helped the hearers comprehend the truth of what He was saying. To bring the Will of God to Earth, we must know the principles of the Kingdom. We must also understand how to function in them. Jesus prayed: “Thy Kingdom Come, Thy WILL be “DONE ON EARTH” as it is in HEAVEN.” (Matthew 6:10)
The Body of Christ has the potential to release the Power of God into the EARTH. However, this will only be realized through a deep understanding of God’s Kingdom Principles. The Eternal Purpose God has for you and for me is that we might release His power into the earth. When this happens, the Kingdom of God descends. His will is fulfilled, just as Jesus prayed in Matthew chapter 6. And in the Old Testament, Adam had the Kingdom around him. Let’s consider that all the Old Testament saints and apostles had the Kingdom around them. Prophets, teachers, and kings also experienced this. It was external and it was physical. It was a nation called Israel.
According to the New Testament (the New Covenant), we who BELIEVE have the Kingdom inside us. It is internal. The Kingdom has obviously got to be where the King is. Jesus lives and reigns in the heart of every Believer. Therefore, we have an amazing opportunity. We can make the “KINGDOM COME” and “GOD’S WILL DONE” wherever we might be on earth. The Kingdom is in the Believers heart and that is where the treasures of the Kingdom are. Luke 17:21 tells us the KINGDOM of HEAVEN is within you.”
Jesus has already given us the Keys to the Kingdom (Matt. 16:19). At the time of our conversion, we are given keys of the Kingdom. Keys represent authority, right, privilege, and ability. We can take the keys and loose, release, and initiate on Earth things that are in Heaven. Look at what Matthew 16:19 says. “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Whatsoever thou shalt loose on Earth shall be loosed in Heaven.” Jesus made it possible for us to function on Earth as He functions as Heaven in us.
The Kingdom is a “SPIRITUAL KINGDOM” and it operates by ” FAITH.” The Kingdom is a “Spiritual Kingdom”, and it operates by “FAITH.” The Kingdom is not based on facts. It is based on truth. Jesus prayed in John 17 that those who believe would be sanctified (set apart) by the truth of God. John 17:16-17. Truth is more powerful and has more authority than facts. We (believers) are “MARKED OFF” and ‘SET APART.” That is what “sanctified” means. The truth sets a boundary around us. This boundary prevents Satan and demons from penetrating. This truth concerning the Kingdom will set us aside from others. It is radical and it is revolutionary. When our lives are governed by the God-kind of faith, we please and gratify God. We bring Him pleasure. Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him. This is the only occurrence of this world in the New Testament.”
The Kingdom is purposed and designed to operate on earth. The Kingdom is on Earth. We need the things of God in our lives on this earth. It is now that we need heaven’s resources to overcome the World System. Here on Earth is where we need the power of God. We need the ability of God. Here is where we need the authority of God, and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is here that we need healing, deliverance and power over the devil. We are Kingdom people. We are called and sanctified to live Heaven’s life on Earth. We do this in the “midst of a crooked and perverse generation.” (Phil 2:5)
CONCLUSION: We are confidently in a dress rehearsal for our future life in Heaven. The Kingdom is not just our power supply. It is also our Storehouse. We have the incredible ability to add to it. We can lay up treasures in our storehouse (Mt. 6:20). Everything we need is found in the Kingdom, and the Kingdom resides within us. We should not wait for blessings to descend from heaven like rain. There is no need to “tarry,” “wait,” or “beg” for what we need to come into our lives. Jesus boldly stated, “The KINGDOM of HEAVEN suffereth violence. The violent take it by FORCE (barpazo; pluck, pull, take by force).” When we confront something with force, we uncover the truth of it. For far too long, man-made religion and the man-made church have distorted the Kingdom. It is time to reclaim it from error and restore it to truth with unyielding determination. Jesus proclaimed in John 8:32, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” This statement is powerfully preceded by the condition: If you continue in MY WORD. When you do, YOU are truly MY DISCIPLES. By dwelling in the Word, living in it, and existing within it, we will become steadfast disciples. This commitment enables us to know the Truth. And receive fresh revelations about God’s truth. With these kinds of revelations, we will be empowered. We will be able to apply the truth we have received. We will be able to continue to fight the good fight of faith.
