Jesus Understood the Empowering Presence of The Holy Spirit

JESUS KNEW WHY HE LEFT HEAVEN. He knew what He came to earth to achieve. He never doubted who He was. He knew what He was here on earth for. He knew He was the Son of God. He knew what He was born as a human to do, and His mind was set on accomplishing His mission. Jesus had a winning mentality. Jesus had faith and He used faith to heal the sick and to cast out devils. Jesus lived by Faith and He walked by Faith. He used Faith to pay His taxes. He used His Faith to stop a storm. He used His Faith to see what was not and to call things that were not as though they were. Jesus had a mind that was filled with Word. He used His Faith to raise the dead. Jesus knew His Father (GOD). He knew His heart. He was in agreement with His Father. He talked to Him and He loved Him. And He had continual fellowship with Him. Jesus knew His Father (Our Heavenly Father).

JESUS ENABLED ALL BELIEVERS TO JOYFULLY REIGN over every aspect of life. This means to rule, be in charge, and exercise power, control, and authority. Believers are also meant to take dominion. This is true for our current lives as well as the life to come. There’s no need to wait for the fullness of this promise! We do not have to wait until we die and go heaven to rule and reign. The Bible says that we (Believers) shall “reign in life” by Christ Jesus. Romans 5:19 (paraphrased) says, “For if, because of one man’s trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned through that one. Much more will those who receive (God’s) overflowing grace (unmerited favor) receive the free gift of righteousness.” This puts them into right standing with Himself. It allows them to reign as kings in life through the One, Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One.

REMEMBER, WHAT GOD ACCOMPLISHED IN CHRIST IS FAR MORE POWERFUL THAT WHAT SATAN DID IN ADAM. Jesus came to reverse the effects of sin that began with Adam. We have borne the weight of our first birth as sinners. Yet, we are assuredly embraced as the beloved Children of God at our “Second Birth.” Romans 5:20 beautifully reminds us, “Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” The Amplified version adds, “But where sin increased, grace (God’s unmerited favor) has surpassed it. Grace has increased more and super-abounded.”

THINK ABOUT YOUR LIFE AT THIS VERY MOMENT. Consider whether you feel in control, out of control, or under control. This encompasses every aspect of your existence—your mind, your body, and your desires. It includes your family, your finances, and your future. Finally, consider your overall well-being. It’s important to recognize that you presently feel in control or out of control. You are also influenced by challenges like negative habits, troubling thoughts, worries, weaknesses, sickness, or unfulfilled appetites.

GOD WANTS YOU TO BE IN CONTROL IN GOOD WAYS. He has set forth some principles in His Word. They will work. They will work anytime and all the time. Regardless of your situation or circumstance they will work. These principles are supernatural and not dependent on the World System. They are from God to His Children and are guaranteed to work. The power that enforces them is the Blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit will help you. The Holy Spirit wants you in control.

JESUS ACKNOWLEDGED THE HOLY SPIRIT’S EMPOWERING PRESENCE. This is highlighted in Genesis 1:2 where the “Spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters.” Much like a bird hovering over its nest to incubate new life. This imagery portrays the Spirit of God nurturing and life-giving role in creation.

JESUS RELIED UPON THE HOLY SPIRIT. As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. At that moment, heaven opened. He saw the Spirit of God (the Holy Spirit) descending like a dove. It alighted on Him. And suddenly a voice from heaven said, “This is My Son. I love Him. With Him, I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:16-17 Paraphrased)

JESUS DID NOT START HIS EARTHLY MINISTRY WITHOUT THE OUTPOURING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Scripture the Spirit of God led Jesus into the wilderness for the first time of temptation (see Matt. 4:1). After this Jesus healed the sick, raised the dead and cast out demons. It’s obvious that Jesus waited for empowerment from on high, which was the Holy Spirit. Similarly, shouldn’t we want the current-day ministry of the Holy Spirit? I can tell you this from experience. As you start to get to know Him, you will want more of Him. You will see the fruits of your labor. He is waiting for you to get to know Him as your Counselor, Comforter, Helper and Advocate.

AN INVITATION TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT. The Holy Spirit is a person of the divine Godhead Trinity, and He desires a relationship with you. Do you realize that when you received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit began living inside you? Nonetheless, to be empowered like Jesus, you need to ask the Holy Spirit. Invite Him to come upon you for the infilling or baptism of His Spirit. Are you ready for more of the Holy Spirit? If so, I encourage to pray the prayer below and ask the Holy Spirit to come upon you!

PRAYER TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT. Jesus, I thank You for sending me the Holy Spirit as my Helper, Teacher, Comforter, Advocate and Intercessor. and more. Holy Spirit, come upon me. Baptize me in Your Spirit. Fill me with your fullness and power. Give me the evidence of speaking in tongues, (my heavenly language), and all the Gifts of the Spirit. I receive you now, Holy Spirit, as Jesus did and as in the Day of Pentecost. In Jesus’ name, amen.
